Not even the “Summer House” is real, according to one of its cast members.
On Thursday’s second installment of the show’s reunion, Luke Gulbranson accused the show’s producers of forcing him to ask Hannah Berner to visit his home state of Minnesota with him after taping wrapped on 2020’s Season 4. As a result, Gulbranson said Berner developed deeper feelings for him than she should have.
“I’m clearly going to break [the] fourth wall and I apologize but this is something I have to say. I’m sorry you guys,” the 36-year-old began. “I was produced and asked to ask you to go to Minnesota. I should have never asked you that. I should have said no.”
Andy Cohen and the rest of the “Summer House” cast immediately denied producers had done such a thing as Berner, 29, looked on, stunned.
“That is the most f—d up thing,” she said through tears as she walked off the stage. “That really f—ks with someone’s emotions.”
Cohen pressed Gulbranson, saying that there was footage of him asking Berner to go of his own volition. The show also cut to footage of Berner speaking to Gulbranson’s family via FaceTime while in the house.
Gulbranson insisted he just wanted to apologize for his actions before he also walked off the set to speak to producers.
“You wanted her to come but it wasn’t the right time to ask her to? Is that what you’re trying to say?” one producer tried to clarify in their discussion.
Gulbranson agreed with the clarification, before speaking with Berner separately in her dressing room.
“I was just trying to hurt you when I said that,” he said. “So I’m really sorry.”
Berner responded through tears that she trusted Gulbranson and was hurt that he didn’t defend her at all throughout the past summer and current reunion.
The two ended up making up with a hug — but drama is sure to ensue if they both return to “Summer House” for another season.
